Privacy notice

SMC - Single Mom Care ("SMC", "we") respects your privacy. This notice explains what information we collect through this website, why, who can see it and the choices you have.

Information we collect

• Your account: your name, email address, preferred language and a password (passwords are handled by our sign-in provider; SMC never sees them).
• Mothers' profile: date of birth, phone number, number of children, city or area, and an identity document you upload. We ask for these once, to plan programs and support with you.
• What you send us: program applications, support requests and their messages, documents you upload, event registrations, campaign sign-ups and messages through the contact form.
• Donations: the amount, currency, method (OMT, Whish, bank transfer, cash or goods), the donation reference and, if you give them, your name and email address.
• Volunteers and team members: skills, availability, assignments and volunteer hours you record.
• Technical information: a sign-in cookie that keeps you signed in, and security records such as when an account was used. We do not use advertising or tracking cookies.

Why we use it

• To provide our programs, events, support and campaigns, and to contact you about them.
• To confirm and record donations, and to report honestly on how money is used.
• To keep the website and your account secure, including checks that protect our forms from automated abuse.
• To meet our legal and financial obligations as a non-profit organization.

Who can see it

• Mothers' personal details and documents are seen only by the SMC staff handling your file. Volunteers who run an event see only the names of those attending.
• Every look at a mother's file is recorded, and access is reviewed.
• Public pages never show personal details. Published impact figures are totals only, and groups of fewer than five people are not shown.
• We do not sell or rent personal information, and we do not share it for advertising.

Service providers

We use trusted providers to run this website: secure database, sign-in and private file storage; website hosting; an email service to send account and update emails; and a bot-protection check on some forms. They process information only on our instructions.

How long we keep it

We keep personal information only as long as it is needed to support you and to meet our legal and financial record-keeping obligations. After that it is deleted or made anonymous.

Your choices and rights

• You can see and correct your details at any time in your profile.
• You can turn off update emails in your profile; we will still send emails needed for your account.
• You can ask us for a copy of your information, to correct it or to delete it, by writing to us through the contact page.

Changes

We will update this notice when our practices change and show the new version on this page.
